Almond cultivation is a widely practiced and highly productive agricultural sector, especially on the Absheron Peninsula. However, until now, no almond processing facility existed in our country or the region. Participating in this pioneering project and contributing to its implementation is a matter of great pride for us.
Architectural Design
The design and project management process was carried out based on the staged planning and project management program of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Within the RIBA framework, the project followed these stages:
- Stage C — Conceptual sketches
- Stage D — Working design
- Stage E — Technical design
One of the main goals of the design was to create a modern facility that meets international standards, oriented not only to the domestic market but also to export. To achieve this, the project team studied the Spanish model, visiting operational plants in Spain to understand the principles, approaches, technological equipment, and production and raw material handling processes of such facilities.
The main goal in designing the buildings and structures of the Almond Processing Plant was to combine functionality with aesthetic appeal. The production process itself resembles a performance, and observing it through the large glass facades of the administrative building creates the impression of being part of the process. We are confident that both staff and visitors enjoy the architectural solutions while observing production from above.
